Hardware Infrastructure
Smart Charge supports all EV charging stations compatible with the OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) 1.6 (JSON & SOAP). Supporting existing and future charging infrastructure.

Operating Software

Driver Applications
The Smart Charge Driver App (available on iOS, and Android) makes it easy to locate a charging station near you and check availability in real-time. Once at the station, drivers can start the charging session with a few taps and monitor the progress on their phone while they go about their activities. When they stop the charging session, the transaction will automatically be billed to the driver’s credit card, App wallet, or Fleet Management provider. Note - Credit Card details are stored by Stripe, and not by Smart Charge.
Smart Load Distribution
Our Smart Charge load distribution channel provides a capability to group chargers and manage the load per charging station for any OCPP compliant charging equipment. This solution provides the following competences:
- Determine a maximum power output per charger or group of chargers.
- Load balancing: Distribute power across a group of chargers dynamically depending of the usage.
- Managing maximum output with automatic limits depending on the overall usage. Safe mode usage.
The solution enables the connection of multiple APIs to connect with EMS (Energy Management Systems) to provide Demand Response Solutions and other microgrid integration for V2G (Vehicle to Grid).
Grid & Solar Integration
Our patent pending systems integration approach facilitates the EV charging network to measure, communicate and work symbiotically within the electrical infrastructure that it is installed. By measuring the system load at the incoming mains and output of any onsite solar invertor, and/or network power transformer. Our software can then provide a dynamic maximum limit for the charger/s to stay under. Brilliantly complimenting the Smart Charge Load Distribution functionality. The advancement of this approach is to ensure that Electric Vehicles are charged in advance of requirements, and in the most cost effective and environmentally friendly way possible.
